I created Case Ace Copy to help small business owners get more customers from their websites

Hi! I’m Dave Charest. As you might have already guessed that’s me up in the website header. And yes, I’m originally from Massachusetts.

I’ve always had a knack for marketing. In my high school days I used to compete in national marketing competitions. In college I studied Communications, Journalism and Acting. As varied as these interests may seem, to me they boiled down to one thing:

How to tell a story (In a way that connects with an audience on an emotional level)

Back in 2006 I began studying copywriting and online marketing

This led me to actively examine what all kinds of businesses were doing online. How could I apply the things I saw working to my own business? I began to notice major differences between the websites that held my interest and those that didn’t. What made one site more engaging than the other?

It was simply the way they conveyed information.

Some websites spoke only of themselves and how great they were. You know, like that guy at the party everyone tries to avoid. But the truly great websites, they were different. They put the customer’s interests first. They were helpful. They shared information freely. Taught lessons. And they found ways to demonstrate the value their business had to the customer rather than just tell you about what they could do.

There was something else that made a huge difference

People. You got to see the people behind the business. You got to see how passionate they were about what they did. You got to know them. Like them. And trust them.

You were able to ‘meet’ these people before you met them in real life. Why should this matter? Simply because…

People do business with people they know, like and trust.

This is the small business owner’s biggest advantage

Where large corporations speak in the third person and build walls between themselves and the customer, the small business owner has the flexibility to make a real connection and attract the types of clients they really want to work with.

And yet I noticed something terrible

Small business owners who weren’t sure how to convey their core beliefs would copy those large corporations. They would use the same cold corporate speak that would essentially build a wall between their products and services and the potential customer.

My goal with Case Ace Copy is to help you break down that wall
